START THE CAR! OMG! These Costco Kirkland Signature Almond Danish are to die for!
You know I love a good almond croissant. There isn’t anything better than sitting at a Boulangerie in Paris with a coffee and an Almond Croissant. In fact, I love them so much that I found a way to use the unbaked frozen croissants from Costco and make Almond Croissants! Check out that recipe for Almond Croissants.
What does that have to do with the Costco Kirkland Signature Almond Danish? Well, they are an excellent replacement! Plus, they cost way less than a flight to Paris!
I’ve been walking by these Danishes for months now! I would touch the box, hesitate, and then walk away empty-handed. It’s not that I was worried I wouldn’t like them. I was more concerned that I would love them! I kept looking at the price and thinking they were too expensive.
But I finally did it. Grabbed a box and went to checkout. Little did I know, the price was for 2 boxes! Just like the muffins and bagels. Bonus!
At $12.99 for a total of 8 Danishes, you can’t go wrong. Considering the size of these things, it’s a steal of a deal!
How do they taste
Like heaven. Pure heaven.
The pastry itself is flakey yet soft and buttery. The almond filling is where it’s at! It’s like a bottle of good amaretto and a freshly baked Danish had a baby. And this Danish is the baby!
You get a mouthful of buttery, flaky pastry and almond filling in every delicious bite! It goes without saying, if you don’t love almonds, you won’t love these!
Are they nutritious
Well…. Almonds are good for you….. Right? This is where I would typically post a picture of the nutritional value, but it wasn’t on the box. I found it for you with a bit of elbow grease, and I’m warning you, and may just want to skip this part.
One Costco Kirkland Signature Almond Danish has 750 calories, 47 grams of fat, 380 mg of sodium, 71 grams of carbohydrates, four grams of fibre, 31 grams of sugar and 13 grams of protein.
Look at all that protein!
Would I buy them again
Absolutely YES! This is, by far, my favourite Costco item of all time! However, I will try to limit my consumption to special occasions because I could eat them every day and never get enough. Start the car! I’m heading back for more!
